zu dem KalenderMarcel Gisler was in his mid-20s when he shot his debut with a light touch, plenty of enthusiasm and a group of friends. Max (Rudolf Nadler), Lola (Dina Leipzig) and Laurids (Lutz Deisinger) live from day to day in an old apartment in Berlin's Kreuzberg district. But this lifestyle has an expiration date: as soon as the main tenant (played by Marcel Gisler himself) returns, they will have to leave the apartment. The daily lives of these slightly eccentric idlers are brought to life with plenty of charm and wit and the film captures the West Berlin spirit of the time perfectly. “TAGEDIEBE has freshness and self-irony. Gisler, who of course knows his Eustache (La maman et la putain) and his Jarmusch (Stranger Than Paradise) but does not depend on these cinematic tropes, doesn’t dwell on life and death. TAGEDIEBE is a film that hasn’t yet erased the past. Getting by but without cutting oneself off." (Karsten Witte) (al)
